Service.
Integrity.
Commitment.
"Communication, integrity, and teamwork are my hallmarks."
I retired from the Navy after 25 years on active duty, serving in 13 locations with 2 deployments and service on 9 ships. My experiences required time-sensitive problem-solving and working with partners at every level of domestic and international government, industry, and academia. As a leader, attorney, and Fulbright scholar, I practiced criminal, administrative, and contract law, and served as an international law professor.
Although military service took us all over the world, my husband and I chose Dane County as the ideal place to raise our middle-school-age daughter. We are proud to call this community home.
I am deeply invested in our local success, volunteering with the PTO, youth soccer, and a church program supporting new foster children. I am also a certified UW-Extension Master Gardener, committed to preserving the beauty of our region.
Priorities for District 15
Fiscal Stewardship
Dane County is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. We must support this growth without rapidly skyrocketing property taxes. I believe in balancing development with the infrastructure needs it generates. My focus is on consolidation of services, reducing managerial levels, and retaining the expertise of county workers over quick-fix contract labor.
Affordable Housing
I serve on the City of Middleton’s Workforce Housing Committee to ensure accessible housing for our workforce, young families, and seniors. I support modernizing zoning ordinances and leveraging state financial tools to expand supply. We must also increase visibility of federal and state programs to harness resources for our unhoused neighbors.
Natural Resources
Families are drawn here by our clean lakes and public green spaces. Shrewd use of land and water resources is essential to ensure these assets are available for future generations. As a Master Gardener and outdoor enthusiast, I prioritize environmental protection and sustainable resource use.
